Riyadh, Sha'ban 25, 1439, May 11, 2018, SPA -- Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of the National Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, announced in Tokyo today the discovery of the footprints of an old man on the bank of an ancient lake in the desert of the Nafud desert in Tabuk Region in Saudi Arabia, which is dated back to 85,000 years.
Prince Sultan said that a joint Saudi international team has found traces of several adults who were scattered on land and in an old lake, each heading to a different destination. They may have been fishing around the lake for food, pointing out that these discoveries are subject to further specialized studies.
He said that the age of the footprints coincides with the fossil of the finger of a sane person recently found near the central site in the province of Taima, which is 85,000 years old.
