Presidency of Two Holy Mosques Harnesses Artificial Intelligence Technologies to Facilitate Performing Rituals

Makkah, March 23, 2023, SPA -- The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet's Holy Mosque, represented by the Agency of Technological Affairs, Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence, has started using artificial intelligence technologies to respond to visitors' applications and requests to facilitate performing rituals.
Assistant Undersecretary of the Agency Eng. Raed Al-Matrafi explained that the comprehensive development plans of the Two Holy Mosques services system are based on systematic and thoughtful plans derived from the latest studies and international service specifications, harnessing the human potential and automated equipment to create an integrated service system that meets the wishes of worshippers during the holy month of Ramadan.
He added that the agency provided many digital platforms and applications, most notably the digital presidency portal, which contains many technological services, in addition to the digital services platform, which includes many digital services under a single platform that serves all visitors of the Two Holy Mosques and contributes to enriching their experience and upgrading the quality of the works provided.
He pointed out that there are many digital applications, such as the Al-Haramain Quran App, which displays a highly accurate version of the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran, referring to the availability of smart artificial intelligence robots in the Grand Holy Mosque that do not need any human intervention, including robots for sterilization and disinfection.
